We appreciate your interest in working with Bradford Council. Bradford has a vibrant community, innovative businesses, and institutions make up our large, young, and diverse city. A dynamic cultural sector is central to Bradford's vision for social and economic inclusion. We are committed to working with our people, communities, partners, and businesses to improve quality of life and get the best for our District. We all contribute to achieving those goals, and so will you. Our district and its people can fulfil their potential only if we care about what we do at work every day. Although you might face challenges, you will be supported by a team that is on your side.
The Safeguarding Adults Service within the Department of Health and Wellbeing is looking to recruit a number of full-time social workers. You have a CQSW/CSS/DIPSW/Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work or equivalent and hold a current driving licence (unless a disability prevents this). We are looking for practitioners who are passionate about social work and who are confident in upholding and promoting the rights of people who use the service. Applicants will have a sound understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and be able to demonstrate how they apply this in their practice. Candidates will understand the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) and how this impacts on social work practice in the context of safeguarding adults under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced and dynamic service. The successful candidates will be joining a recently re-structured service and become part of a wider team dedicated to strengths-based and outcome-focused practice. The right candidates will have brilliant interpersonal skills and will be capable at building effective working relationships with colleagues, people who use the service and professional partners alike. Candidates will be confident in assessing risk and in promoting risk-enablement. In their roles, successful candidates will contribute to providing a service in accordance with the local Joint Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures by undertaking enquiries into allegations of abuse and neglect. Please see the individual job profile below for more detail on the role.
