We currently have a full time (37.5 hours per week) permanent contract for a Band 5 Staff Nurse on Ward 15a.
We are looking for someone with good communication skills, who is enthusiastic and motivated to learn. You will be working in a close knit team within a busy ward and we will require you to be flexible in your working hours to ensure we can deliver a quality service.
15a is a 16 bedded Urology/ Gynaecology ward, supporting both elective and emergency patients. Some post registration experience would be desirable but not essential.
A full induction package, and preceptorship programme will be offered to the successful candidate.
Maintain activities to meet requirements
• Ensure all policies/protocols/standards are upheld and abide by all policies and procedures regarding implementation, monitoring, training and audit of infection prevention and control issues
• Maintain Health and Safety for all staff, patients, visitors and
members of themultidisciplinary team following the Trust’s policy.
• The post holder must comply with all relevant policies, procedures and training on infection prevention and control.
• Attend yearly updates for all statutory training.
• Take charge of a clinical area unsupervised after progressing through the foundation gateway, this will be on an occasional basis. Once the post holder has gained sufficient experience and has fulfilled their competencies, they will be required to take charge of a clinical area on a regular basis

• Arrange for the ordering and storage of supplies/stores.
• Ensure the effective utilisation of stores and equipment.
• Ensure staffing shortages are addressed and are communicated to the ward manager.
