An exciting opportunity has arisen to join St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as Assistant General Manager. The role involves Operational Leadership of Endoscopy, Gastroenterology and Hepatology all within the Directorate of Specialist Medicine.
The postholder will report to the General Manager and act as a vital member of the Specialist Medicine Directorate Management Team. They will have a broad portfolio of operational and performance management responsibilities and will lead on a number of Directorate wide initiatives designed to improve services for patients.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that services are efficiently and effectively run within the Directorate. This will be achieved through excellent human resource, financial and performance management, and leadership of change management to achieve improvement in process and patient outcomes.
2. The post holder will also take the lead on specific service development issues. The post holder will also be operationally responsible for designated areas of the Directorate including direct management responsibility for staff and direct budgetary control.
3. The post holder will be responsible for meeting both the Division's objectives and the strategic corporate objectives of the organisation and will provide leadership and management support to staff within their areas of management. The role will also focus on the development and implementation of projects working within tight time scales when required.
4. The Assistant General Manager will deputise, where appropriate for the General Manager in their absence.
