Leisure Centre Duty Manager - Cheltenham, Gloucestershire Job Type: Full Time - 40 hours per week Join our Leisure team as a Duty Manager and play a crucial role in delivering our leisure and sports activities to our local community at our Cheltenham venues. Ideally, we are looking for an experienced Leisure Team Leader or Duty Manager looking to develop their leisure management career. This position is a key one, overseeing daily operations and working with the rest of the team to ensure our customers have an enjoyable and safe visit across our diverse programme of activities. About us The Cheltenham Trust is an independent charity that manages five iconic venues at the heart of Cheltenham including Leisure at Cheltenham, the Prince of Wales Stadium and the Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham Town Hall, Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, The Role – Duty Manager Working with the Operations Manager, you will oversee and coordinate operations, ensuring high standards of customer experience and daily operations To act as a member of the Centre’s Duty Management Team on a shift rota system, Overseeing team members and ensuring standards are maintained Ensure all Health and Safety procedures and responsibilities are carried out at all times. Assist the Operations manager with management of site plant rooms to include general maintenance, completion of pool records Full training will be provided Manage customer feedback on site To assist with the provision of accreditations, training and compliance To act as a key holder and be responsible for opening and closing’ Our Requirements – Duty Manager Previous experience working in a Leisure centre environment is essential (or related industry) Experience gained in a supervisory / managerial role Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills Be able to communicate at different levels of the organisation, be able to listen and manage as appropriate. Good knowledge of health & safety, first aid, fire safety and security policies and procedures Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple activities National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) desirable (training can be provided) A recognised Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable or must be obtained within a set period if not held. The Package This is a full time position working 40 hours per week on a rolling rota, including early morning, evening and weekends.
