Position: Interim SENCO
Location: Bassaleg, Newport
Hours: 40 hours per week, term time
Salary Details: £2,500 additional to existing salary- pro rata (circa £200 per month) for up to one term.

The ideal candidate will:
* To fully participate in the life of the school community, promoting and supporting its ethos, values and aims.

* Strategic development of SEN policy and provision.
* Have a strategic overview of provision for pupils with SEN or a disability across the school, monitoring and reviewing the quality of provision.
* Contribute to school self-evaluation, particularly with respect to provision for pupils with SEN or a disability.
* Make sure the SEN policy is put into practice and its objectives are reflected in the school improvement plan (SIP).
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national and local initiatives that may affect the school’s policy and practice.
* Evaluate whether funding is being used effectively, and suggest changes to make use of funding more effective.
Greenfields school:
Located in Bassaleg, Newport supporting learners aged 9-16 with learning differences. The school is registered to provide education for up to 20 pupils, who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). We cater for a mix of residential and day placements.
