Southend City Council is looking to appoint a full-time Personal Advisor in an agency capacity. Within this position, you will be required to act as the focal point in making sure that a young person leaving care gets the right support as they move into adulthood.
You will provide in-depth 1-1 intensive support to the most vulnerable young people, addressing barriers to education, training, and employment (ETE) and enabling them to reach their full potential. Work closely with these young people to create a personalized and tailored pathway plan. Acting as an advocate for Care Leavers, you will promote equality and opportunities, supporting care leavers to access housing, education, employment, and health to achieve positive outcomes.
You will also be working with separated migrant young people who are navigating Home Office processes, providing emotional and practical support, as well as managing a caseload of separated migrant young people and Care Leavers. Maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively to deliver high-quality support and services is essential.
Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre a minimum of 3 days a week.
