The Locker Group are leaders in design and development, manufacture, fabrication, storage and distribution of wire mesh-based products and systems for industrial, offshore, architectural and retail applications. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer with UK construction experience to join their growing team.
The role will involve managing all design aspects of Locker Architectural and Heatshielding business sectors, often with multiple projects running concurrently. This will include project design budget development during the costing phase and then managing/ carrying out design works and document management including GA and detailed production drawings, ensuring quality is maximised, resources and commitments managed internally and via sub-contract plus associated risks are minimised.
You will have strong design project management and delivery skills and experience including:
* Knowledge & understanding of CDM Regulations and the role of the Designer under these Regulations
* Ability to check drawings and provide feedback for best practices in line with our design and quality standards
* Expert level of CAD and other technologies relevant to construction management
* BIM experience
* An understanding of the UK construction industry and typical RIBA design stages
* Ability to manage the flow of design information and coordination of all drawings
* Experience of advising on material thicknesses, cost optimisation, and simplifying designs at an early design stage to improve costing
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines without compromising safety, quality, or cost budgets
* Experience of working with expanded metal, woven mesh or perforated metals would be an advantage, though not essential.
