Sales Strategy Analyst, AWS Global Sales Operations

The AWS Global Sales (AGS) Strategy Team architects and is responsible for the AGS resourcing model, annual operational planning, three-year strategy, and the success of our multi-year strategic programs.
In the LATAM Strategy team, we work closely with our internal business leaders to glean their knowledge, incorporate data and information from external sources, and develop our own insights to inform and drive change across our global sales organization. As a LATAM Strategy Analyst, you will own research and analysis to support strategic recommendations and initiatives, and act as a key connection point to Data Science, Sales Operations, Finance, and Engagement teams to unearth data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, business acumen, and experience in data interpretation, identification of trends, root cause analysis, and scenario planning. They will have experience working with disparate sources of information to bridge gaps, design and deliver analyses, and uncover trends. Strong judgement and the ability to creatively deliver outcomes, despite ambiguity, using a combination of internal and external research are critical to success.
Key job responsibilities
1. Conduct independent research on various internal and external trends, processes, etc. to support strategy development.
2. Lead key analytical deep-dives that inform and/or support LATAM’s strategic initiatives working closely with the Geo Strategy Lead.
3. Conduct assessments to inform ambiguous problem statements with undefined inputs and outputs, using analytical tools such as data interpretation, scenario planning, trends analysis, opportunity sizing, and evaluation of risks and challenges.
4. Develop a deep understanding of AWS Global Sales business units to analyze relevant data and strategies that can be implemented to drive sustainable growth.
5. Partner closely with Data Science, Sales Operations, Sales Planning, Finance and Engagement teams to uncover strategic insights from large sets of data.
6. Support development of new strategy initiatives using a combination of analytical and critical thinking skills.
7. Represent the team on medium sized projects or working groups within the organization and effectively engages across teams.
8. Support long-term strategic planning for AWS in LATAM, including new GTM motions and cross-functional opportunities.
9. Contribute to business-driving documents by highlighting key learnings that form recommendations for long term growth strategies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. 2+ years of experience in strategy consulting or a strategic role at Fortune 500 companies, with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related analytical discipline.
2. Proficient in conducting sophisticated, creative analyses of complex data, and translating findings into actionable deliverables, messages, and documents.
3. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to dive deep into undefined spaces, instill structure, and maintain attention to detail while being passionate about their work.
4. Effective communication skills, capable of bridging technical and non-technical business units across various geographies.
5. Ability to operate efficiently in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience working with global sales organizations.
2. Experience working at a top strategy consulting firm.
3. Experience working with a Latin American scope.
4. Knowledge of cloud computing and IT markets.
