Our client, a leader in the automation and energy sectors, is currently seeking an experienced EC&I Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This permanent position offers a dynamic role where you will be working from concept through to customer commissioning and field trials, ensuring on-time delivery within strategic operational budgets and adhering to specifications. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to clarify requirements and deliver cost-effective products. Influence and resolve ECI engineering issues by identifying the best solutions. Oversee technical elements of product system and subsystem design, identifying risks and implementing mitigation actions. Ensure modularity and standardisation for maximised reuse of engineering efforts. Accountable for safety and type testing, ensuring compliance and approving related reports. Contribute to project planning processes, anticipate obstacles, and monitor progress. Develop and improve controls engineering processes. Provide technical content for manuals, build notes, and service instructions; review content produced by others. Job Requirements: HND or degree in electrical, instrumentation, controls, or software discipline. Experience in controls and software within relevant industries. Practical application of best-practice product design, notably in electrical controls and instrumentation. Proficiency in PLC programming using ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks, HMI programming, and understanding of various communication protocols. Experience in working within regulated, compliance-driven industries such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Strong influencing and negotiation skills at various organisational levels. Ability to take ownership of situations and demonstrate best-practice by example. High level of integrity and results-driven mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing requirements. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and orally, and adapt to cultural differences.
