Job Overview
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Workers to join our team, providing essential support to young people with complex emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs in a therapeutic, solo-placement environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for the children in our care by delivering personalized care, building positive relationships, and working within a therapeutic framework. This role requires excellent communication skills, adherence to care plans, and the ability to support young people both in the home and in the community.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality, personalized care and support to young people in a residential setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
* Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
* Work collaboratively to implement and maintain tailored care plans, ensuring the needs of each young person are met effectively.
* Communicate regularly and effectively with young people, families, and external professionals, reporting on progress and any concerns.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, offering emotional support and helping them develop self-regulation and independence.
* Accompany and support young people during community activities, appointments, and educational settings.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the young person’s behavior or needs.
* Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, always prioritizing the safety and welfare of the young people.
* Work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, as part of a dedicated care team.
Qualifications
* Experience working with children in a care or therapeutic setting is preferred but not essential.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people and professionals.
* Familiarity with care plan implementation and record keeping is advantageous.
* A valid driving license is required for this role.
* Compassionate, patient, and resilient, with a genuine commitment to supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or a willingness to work towards it).
