ROLE: Behaviour Support Worker
LOCATION: Wakefield
START DATE: ASAP
Protocol Education are working with a mainstream secondary school in Wakefield to recruit a Behaviour Support Worker (BSW) to join their behaviour support department.
Overview of Responsibilities:
* Work within the behaviour department and support students with integrating into mainstream classes.
* Support Teachers and Senior Leadership to implement agreed programmes with individuals or small groups, in and out of the classroom.
* Support students with Social Emotional Mental Health Challenges (SEMH support).
* De-escalate challenging behaviour, using behaviour management and restorative techniques.
* Liaise with students’ parents/carers as required.
* Build rapport with students and be a source of pastoral support.
Requirements for this Role:
* Hold experience working with young people, ideally within an education setting but other experience is considered.
* Be able to demonstrate experience of behaviour de-escalation, restoration, and management.
* Have a sound understanding of social emotional mental health and how to best support individuals.
* Experience working with students with special educational needs, such as ASD and ADHD, is ideal but not essential.
Contract Overview:
* Full Time Role Monday – Friday, in Leeds Term Time.
* Working hours 8:30am – 3:30pm (Mon – Thurs) and Friday 8:30am – 3:15pm.
* Temporary to Permanent Contract.
* Up to 13 weeks / 65 days holiday per annum.
