Responsibilities & Measures of Success:
Relationship Development
1. Build and maintain strong working relationships with the site’s Senior Management team, working with function leads to deliver results through the team.
2. Develop effective working relationships with the Technical Services Teams, both internally and externally, working with them to develop strong underpinning knowledge on site processes.
3. Liaise regularly and develop good communication links with subject matter experts from within the wider business.
4. Liaise with the Commercial team to develop an understanding of customers, their expectations and requirements, and lead customer visits when on site.
5. Develop an open, approachable and professional relationship with employees, being present in the production area and taking an active interest in department performance.
6. Communicate openly and regularly with the Company Directors, keeping them updated with relevant site/departmental information.
7. Take an active interest and develop an understanding and a relationship where appropriate with key suppliers, particularly our equipment suppliers.
Operational Excellence
1. Lead the development of the annual site operating budget for presentation to the Director of Operations and Director of Finance, and then monitor and manage its delivery.
2. Ensure effective implementation of the agreed production plan ensuring deviations to plan are investigated, the true root causes are identified with appropriate and timely corrective action implemented.
3. Drive continuous improvement and problem solving through the effective and appropriate use of ‘lean’ tools.
4. Assign responsibility for developing standards to continually improve and develop more efficient methods of working.
5. Ensure product quality is optimized to meet/exceed customer expectations ensuring compliance to Leprino corporate and customer product and quality specifications.
6. Promote and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of site operations.
7. Seek out cost optimization opportunities in all aspects of plant operations.
8. Manage performance through an effective KPI management approach.
9. Hold regular target setting discussions with managers, ensuring focus on safety, quality production performance, output, downtime and rework.
10. Through the Engineering Manager drive best practice in maintenance activities.
11. Work strategically with project teams to support the development and implementation of capital projects.
12. Lead the site in the initiation, development and implementation of value-adding projects.
13. Work with the Director of Operations to develop and deliver the Operational aspects of the 5 years Strategic Plan “Good to Great by 28”.
People / Team
1. Provide Leadership for the Site Team providing direction, guidance and vision to support the achievement of Business goals.
2. Ensure a Management / Team Structure that effectively supports the Business and Site goals.
3. Ensure the Vision for the Site is aligned to the Business goals.
4. Ensure the Values of the Business are “lived and breathed” in all aspects of site operations.
5. Ensure responsibilities, accountabilities and expectations are set for all Managers and team members.
6. Create an environment for the whole team to contribute to the site’s success.
7. Promote a culture of employee engagement.
8. Regularly lead team meetings, feeding back all important information.
9. Manage the team equilibrium by clearly communicating the targets.
10. Inspire the team to achieve operational targets.
11. Development of the Management Team through effective coaching and development plans.
12. Set SMART Objectives supported by the development and implementation of effective plans.
13. Set clear expectations on standards and performance for each member of the team.
14. Promote timely and structured approach to close out and completion of agreed targets and actions.
15. Actively participate in Employee Relations matters when required.
16. Lead communication to all staff on companywide issues.

6. Drive and sustain excellent standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
7. Ensure environmental compliance is maintained at all times.
8. Act as an ambassador for the business at all times.
9. Host visitors to the site, presenting all aspects of the site professionally.
10. Ensure the site meets its Corporate Social Responsibility.
