Role: Quality Control Patrol Inspector
Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm
Capacity of role: Temporary to Permanent position
Rate of pay: Up to £18.56 per hour
Our client is looking to add to their quality control division by employing an inspector. The candidate will need to have working and familiar experience with ISO9001/14001 practices and will be responsible for ensuring all in-house processes are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
Main duties will include:
1. Liaising with all staff to ensure quality issues are addressed within the manufacturing areas to avoid high reject rates and resultant scrap.
2. Supporting the Operators for end-of-line inspections and training operators accordingly.
3. Carrying out inspections of manufactured components to ensure final assemblies are completed to the required specifications.
4. Completing and taking responsibility for the accurate recording of non-conforming parts.
5. Completing any process documentation as required, in line with the build instructions, taking ownership and accountability of this process.
6. Documenting and escalating quality issues to ensure a quality product is produced for the end user.
7. Participating in continuous improvement initiatives/projects to improve product quality.
8. Alerting the Quality Assurance department of ongoing problems and delivering resolutions.
9. Filling out and maintaining proper paperwork.
10. Complying with all standards, internal policies, and legal regulations that apply to the finished product.
11. Comparing finished products to original specifications.
12. Ensuring raw materials and finished products meet specifications through meticulous examination and precise measurement tools.
13. Performing durability, functionality, and safety tests to validate product quality and performance using standardized methods.
14. Maintaining detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality control.
15. Communicating identified defects promptly to supervisors/QA and collaborating on corrective actions for timely resolution.
16. Verifying products meet industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements by staying updated on quality regulations.
17. Developing and enforcing effective protocols to optimize inspection processes and enhance product quality assurance.
18. Ensuring adherence to safety protocols during inspections and production activities to promote a secure workplace for all personnel.
Candidate attributes:
1. Exercising substantial initiative/judgment in work methods and interpreting goals.
2. Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of management.
3. Knowledge of quality systems and measurement/calibration systems and equipment.
4. Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
5. Knowledge of ISO9001.
6. Understanding of ISO14001 and Health and Safety practices.
7. Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
8. Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
9. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to present data effectively.
11. Problem-solving skills.
12. Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or ONC, A Levels, BTec Diploma Level 4, or equivalent NVQ level 4 qualification.
13. Previous experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably with complex and precision components.
14. Experience working in Quality Assurance.
