Role Summary
Are you an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy technician looking to develop your career while promoting a safe and effective medicines procurement service to our patients? As the Lead Technician for Procurement at the Royal Devon, you will join a dynamic and friendly pharmacy team, and play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality clinical pharmacy service.
About the Role
This position is perfect for a proactive technician with management experience, who can demonstrate initiative and a passion for continuous improvement – someone who is always seeking innovative ways to enhance our processes and outcomes.
Based within our pharmacy, you will:
1. Be responsible for ensuring delivery of a high quality, safe and efficient procurement service.
2. Provide professional leadership and support for all aspects of the pharmacy procurement service to ensure provision of a safe and high-quality service which meets legislative, national and local guidelines.
3. Line manage the pharmacy procurement team.
There is huge scope in this role to implement your own ideas in the section. You must be currently registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician with previous hospital procurement experience.
Who you'll work with:
In this role, you'll collaborate with a supportive team of pharmacy professionals and work closely with the section heads in pharmacy and the wider pharmacy team. You will also liaise with wider Trust colleagues including clinical staff and managers.

We are looking for a creative, passionate, forward thinking Pharmacy Technician with excellent organisational and communication skills. The position requires a self-directed individual who can manage their own time and workload to ensure the procurement operation runs smoothly and effectively.
We are looking for a candidate with current knowledge of pharmacy procurement, but with an appetite to increase their skillset in drug procurement. The ability to manage a team of pharmacy stores personnel is also essential. You will be supported in improving your knowledge and skills and in developing the team and processes within procurement.

Working pattern: This a full-time role with a requirement to participate in 7-day working to include late duties, bank holidays and weekend working.
