About the Position
The DevOps Engineer role reports to the SRE Lead, working as part of a small team providing and maintaining the development tools (CI/CD tool chain), providing DevOps excellence and best practice advice to the wider business and development teams, and delivering business initiatives in this space. This will be a hybrid role after a successful few weeks of induction at the Bristol Office. There will be a need to visit the office, with notice on a regular basis, and you should be willing to attend when required by your line manager.
Responsibilities:
Working as part of a team to evaluate, plan, integrate, and manage technical solutions in Cloud (AWS and On-Prem). Strong experience is required in deploying and managing environments, a background in automation, with expertise in the following:
Essential skills:
* Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of individuals.
* Eligible for SC Clearance.
Essential technical skills:
* Source control management (GIT)
* High degree of Python/Go competence.
* Scripting in YAML, JSON, Bash and occasional PowerShell.
* Server administration (Redhat and Debian based Linux).
* Experience with:
o AWS Cloud technologies and infrastructure, including its automation through infrastructure-as-code.
o Working with the Ansible config management tool (or similar if capability can be demonstrated).
o Working with virtualisation technologies (VMware preferred).
* CI/CD Pipeline Deployments with Jenkins
* Experience of monitoring systems (Datadog, Grafana etc).
* Experience of Docker/containerisation.
* Experience of Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
* Experience deploying and configuring web applications in multiple environments (Apache Tomcat).
* Database administration (we work with MySQL and MongoDB with occasional Oracle and Microsoft SQL).
* Knowledge of Java/Node is beneficial.
* Testing of Infrastructure as Code.
* Knowledge of Crossplane.
Comply365 operates a 24/7 on call rota and there may be an expectation that the successful candidate will be required to assist in this rota. The remuneration for this is calculated separately from salary (additional).
