Senior Immunisation Nurse

This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and experience in the Paediatric Hep B programme within our Immunisation team.
As Senior Immunisation Nurse, you will be responsible for planning sessions/home visits and staffing for the Hep B programme and supporting Immunisation nurses in their work.
The role includes assessing prerequisites for immunization, understanding contraindications, aftercare, and providing relevant advice to parents/carers. You must provide support, mentorship, guidance, and supervision to junior nursing staff and administrative members of the Immunisation service.
You will be required to be flexible. When not working with the Hep B service, you may support the School immunisation teams or the BCG team.
Main duties of the job
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills, and experience with infants and children within our Immunisation team.
As the Senior Immunisation Nurse, you will be responsible for planning and staffing for the Hep B service. When not working with the Hep B services, you may support the BCG team or school immunisation team. You will be supported by the Immunisation lead.
This includes assessing infants and children, understanding prerequisites for immunization, contraindications, aftercare, and providing relevant advice to the young person.

Qualifications
* RN Adult (NMC registered) or RN Children (NMC registered) or RMHN (NMC registered) or RM (NMC registered)
* Have a second professional nursing qualification e.g. SCPHN (Health visitor, school nurse, practice nurse, occupational health nurse)
Experience
* Experience of working in primary or community care or working with children & young people
* At least 3 years post-registration experience
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to prioritise work, good starter finisher
* Able to demonstrate effective communication skills using a variety of strategies for children and young people
