The role

We are looking for a capable and experienced team manager to lead and develop staff within our Empty Homes and Lettings team. You will be responsible for line managing staff in person, and remotely. Headcount will be approx. 10 – 15 and cover a range of roles. The team work hard to ensure excellent service to the customer. Ability to work through change and deliver results will be key.
We are also looking for strong people management skills, the ability to communicate well, articulate new ideas and motivate staff. This role would suit someone with social housing experience who has a track record in line managing staff.
The team work in a Hybrid manner from our office in Coventry. Work pattern post training will be 3 days in office 2 days at home.
This role is part of our Customer directorate where you'll help us to lead the way in keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.
What you'll achieve
You will be allocating workstreams, ensuring the lettings process runs smoothly and supporting the Operational Lead.
Ensure homes are let within agreed targets, standards and in line with relevant policies, procedures, regulation, legislation, with a focus on sustaining tenancies and minimising financial loss
Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels to deliver operational performance
Responsible for ensuring the team is effectively and accurately recording information throughout the whole process across all recording tools and adhering to process.
What you'll bring
Essential skills
Understanding of housing law and social housing experience ideal but not essential
Experienced line manager ideally of a team of circa 10 - 15
Demonstrable track record of managing remote and in person team and delivering results
Experience of multi-agency working.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Track record in delivering excellent customer service
Team focused ability to work under pressure to drive culture
