Project Engineer
Stone Marine Services is looking to add an experienced 'Lead Project Engineer'. Based at our Inverkeithing Service Hub, you will be responsible for working closely with customers who have repair projects that incorporate our workshop and the field service team. Often complex, you will manage the repair cycle, spare part requirements, and resources, including external suppliers and partners.
This is a challenging and varied role. You will be involved with projects from inception to close out, working with fleet operators and owners in the UK. You will also work across a client portfolio, including the Royal Navy and other contracted clients.
An in-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering is a prerequisite; marine knowledge would be an advantage. You should be adept at reading mechanical drawings with no gaps in this area.
You will be part of a busy department with one direct report. If job security, opportunity, and development are important to you, this could be the role for you.
We'd like to hear from you if you have a minimum of five years of mechanical experience in project management. For a more detailed job description, please apply to hr@stonemarineservices.com with your CV.
To be considered for this role, you should have the right to live and work in the UK with the necessary permits. This is not a sponsored role.
Responsibilities:
* You should be experienced in reading and understanding mechanical drawings and able to relay and explain requirements within the project scope internally and externally.
* Liaising with the client, assisting with resource planning, pricing, supplier management, and overseeing the project cycle from start to finish.
* Identify project challenges, present solutions, and de-risk.
* Determine project tasks and milestones.
* When appropriate, client-side or internally, organise meetings to discuss progress and objectives.
* Produce clear, accurate and defined ‘Scope of Work Instruction’ to the service management team and Sub-Contractors.
* Have experience with a Quality Management System ISO9001:2015.
* Be familiar with Toolbox Talks, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
* Assist with completing service-related tasks, including Service Reports, secondary Invoice checks, and the competitive purchasing of goods/services.
Due to the nature of this role, there will be a requirement to work out with core hours. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business with a great culture. At Stone Marine Services, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
If you believe that you have the skills and experience to excel in this role, we want to hear from you.
