Eden Scott is thrilled to be supporting their Renewable Energy Developer client with the recruitment of a Project Developer for their busy team.
The business can consider candidates at 2 levels -
Assistant PM / Project Developer - 3 years post grad experience (must be in a related renewables / energy sector role)
Development Manager / Senior Project Developer - over 6 years renewable energy development experience (onshore wind / hydro / solar), including project origination and development consenting management.
This is a varied role in which adaptability to change and flexibility is essential.
JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES - This position is key to securing planning consent for projects. the Project Developer will report directly to the Head of Projects.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Add value and reduce costs (DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX) for projects ensuring project viability on a subsidy free basis through efficient working, careful scoping, procurement and innovative engineering and design opportunities, recorded and managed through the Financial Model.
2. Responsible for setting and managing the project programme in line with strategy to consent.
3. Manage all risks on projects using appropriate tools and contracts.
4. Responsible for project budget to point of consent: includes management of internal and external hours and costs.
5. Responsible for screening, scoping and producing the planning application, normally accompanied by an Environmental Statement.
6. Responsible for management of external consultants and internal technical or engineering support in relation to the project design, ES production, or condition discharge bundles.
7. Responsible for management of Option and Lease Agreements - ensuring sites are secured on viable terms
8. Coordination of engineering design, technical studies and grid requirements
9. Responsible for planning submission and driving towards a consent
EXPERIENCE
10. Minimum 3 years direct experience
11. Successfully managing projects within resource and budget constraints.
12. Successfully dealing with planning authorities and other project stakeholders, including landowners, general public, project contractors, external consultants and development partners.
13. Production of Planning Applications, Environmental Statements and planning condition discharge bundles Experience of the appeals process including Public Inquires.
QUALIFICATIONS
14. Degree in an environmental, engineering, technical, planning or science based subject or equivalent
