Our client, a leading accountancy firm in Prestwick, is on the hunt for a skilled Accounts Assistant to join their team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of managing bookkeeping and prepping accounts for a wide range of clients. Ready to make an impact?
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage bookkeeping and accounts preparation for a variety of clients.
2. Prepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
3. Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, financial statements, and self-assessment tax returns.
4. Liaise regularly with clients and HMRC to address queries, provide updates, and offer professional advice.
5. Support the payroll function for clients, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
6. General admin duties, including answering phones and reception duties.
What we Need From you:
1. Minimum 2 years of experience (accounting practice preferred but not essential).
2. Proficiency in Xero accounting software and MS Excel is essential.
3. Solid understanding of current accounting regulations, including VAT and tax submissions.
4. Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain professional client relationships.
5. AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA/ACA is preferred but not required.
6. Exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
