Are you ready to be a part of the team? Looking to expand or further progress your Teaching Assistant career or seeking a new challenge? A Wantage-based Primary school is keen to appoint an Early Years Foundation Stage / Nursery Specialist.
Are you enthusiastic, engaging, and do you have a love and knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and beyond? You will be predominantly based in our nursery class, alongside our Nursery teacher and practitioners, planning engaging opportunities and learning, effectively managing behaviour, and supporting children's needs. The role may also involve work in other areas at times.
Salary: £83.50 - £90 per day
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday (including 30 minutes unpaid lunch), 32.5 hours per week.
The Early Years Foundation Stage / Nursery Specialist will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team, under the leadership and supervision of the leadership team and the principal.
1. The successful Early Years Foundation Stage / Nursery Specialist will work with individuals/groups to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching and will help raise standards of achievement for all pupils.
2. Work with the Early Years class teacher(s) to plan and deliver purposeful learning opportunities.
3. Be responsible for running daily group sessions, play-based interactions, and interventions with specific target pupils within EYFS.
4. Work may be carried out in classrooms, intervention/breakout spaces, outdoors, or outside the main teaching area.
The ideal candidate to join the Wantage-based Primary school:
1. Has an understanding of safeguarding children in all settings.
2. Can work calmly under pressure and adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances while remaining firm and fair.
3. Can work as part of a team and communicate effectively with children and adults.
4. Possesses a good standard of literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills, ideally GCSE C or equivalent or above.
