Terra Tek Ltd, part of the Igne Group of companies, is seeking a Trainee Laboratory Technician to join its team in Daventry. If you're imagining working in a sterile environment with a white coat, this is not the laboratory role for you! We test ground and soil samples with the very latest technology to support our construction sector clients in finding cost-effective solutions for their building projects.
All we need from you is a willingness to learn, to be happy getting your hands dirty, and to be able to move samples that can weigh in excess of 15kg. A Trainee Laboratory Technician's Key Responsibilities:
1. Testing various construction materials e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.
2. Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets.
3. Liaise with senior members of staff on work schedules and testing procedures.
4. Work within in-house quality assurance systems.
5. Maintain high levels of health and safety in line with company policies.
Your Qualifications:
1. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
About You:
1. You will need good communication skills - both written and verbal.
2. Manual handling and physical activity are daily requirements - samples can weigh in excess of 15kg.
3. You must be confident to work in a team environment.
Salary & Benefits:
1. Basic salary is £26,208 with excellent overtime rates available after 40 hours.
2. 25 days' holiday + bank holidays.
