Franchise Price and Promotions Lead – 12 month secondment

We’re looking for a Franchise Price and Promotions Lead to join us on a 12-month secondment within the franchise B2B division. Our team partners with businesses across multiple industries, generating £200m in revenue—which we reinvest to create greater value for our business, our members, and the communities we serve. As we enter our next stage of growth, we’re expanding our services to reach even more partners.
With ambitious growth plans, we need to build new relationships and strengthen existing ones to grow our franchise footprint across the UK. That’s where you come in. As Franchise Price & Promotions Lead, you’ll play a key leadership role, shaping our pricing and promotional strategy and execution. Acting as the crucial link between Co-op and our partners, you’ll ensure our proposition remains competitive, sustainable, and future-focused.

What you’ll do
* Drive franchise business effectiveness as part of the leadership team.
* Develop and manage franchise-specific pricing and promotional strategies to support value, sales, and profitability.
* Align value strategies across different franchise formats, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
* Use data, insights, and market trends to optimize pricing and promotional approaches.
* Support the transition to SAP for franchise price and promotions, ensuring a scalable future system.
* Lead, coach, and develop the Pricing Analyst and Franchise Data Operations Team.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to align strategies with broader business goals.
* Manage reporting, measure effectiveness, and drive strategic pricing and promotional decisions.
* Balance long-term strategic planning with day-to-day operations.
* Oversee franchise Q-Comm strategy and support new store launches.
This role would suit people who have
* Strong expertise in retail pricing and promotional strategy, with a deep understanding of franchise dynamics.
* Proven track record of success in a leadership role, with demonstrable experience in motivating, coaching, and driving a team to exceed targets and achieve business objectives.
* A clear understanding of the QComm function and its role within the business.
* Excellent analytical skills to translate data and insights into both short-term decisions and long-term strategies.
* A customer- and partner-first mindset while balancing commercial and operational needs.
* Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
* A problem-solving approach, with the ability to simplify complexity and drive strategic growth initiatives.
