We have a fantastic opportunity for a Training & Development Specialist to join our Mobility Education and Skills (E&S) Training function. Reporting to the Senior Training & Development Specialist, you will support the ETCS Freight Onboard project for a period of 6 months.
You will be involved in the development of training materials for the ETCS Freight Onboard project, focusing on training freight operator maintenance and operations trainers in how to use the Onboard System, and may be required to deliver courses.
You will apply your existing experience to deliver the ETCS training material to ensure key business deliverables are achieved while supporting Siemens' training offerings using technology and modern training techniques. This role reports to the Senior Training & Development Specialist and works with the ETCS Freight Onboard project.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Technical Training: Develop and deliver learning/training solutions for both operator and maintainer using a combined approach to external staff. Responsible for the creation of new course material, updating existing material, and developing requirements and storyboards for e-learning. Ensure solutions are delivered in accordance with safety and quality procedures and meet all applicable legislation, safety/customer standards, and project requirements.
2. Technical Assessments: Work with relevant professional groups/departments across SMO to carry out technical assessments where required.
3. Project and New Business Development Support: Support the Freight Onboard project in delivering the agreed training requirements.
4. Customer Relationships: Collaborate with internal and external customers to identify and deliver the training requirements for their area of responsibility. Develop a relationship with the customer that provides a stable foundation for future business opportunities. Collate and respond to customer feedback to ensure Mobility builds trust and confidence in the market.
5. Health, Safety & Environment: Implement safe systems and controls within your area of responsibility. Understand, implement, and comply with SMO, Rolling Stock, Rail infrastructure policies and procedures. Communicate health and safety responsibilities to your team (or virtual team) and ensure employees raise issues and participate in the implementation of agreed changes. Fully participate and engage in SMO behavioural safety agenda to ensure you and your team work safely. Engage with HSQE team to agree targets and priorities to communicate and cascade to the team. Take reasonable care to avoid acts or omissions that may have an environmental impact.

7. Supplier Relationships: Support the exploration and identification of opportunities to develop training partnerships within the wider railway industry.
8. Continuous Improvement/Quality: Actively participate in our Mobility improvement programme and drive implementation of improvements from the team. Continuously develop cross-functional and departmental processes.
9. Compliance: Monitor compliance to meet internal control procedures and take appropriate corrective action. Ensure awareness and understanding of compliance policies and 'Tell Us' ethos. Implement in areas of responsibility.
10. Other: This role profile may vary from time to time in accordance with changes to business needs. Your annual objective setting with your line manager will outline any additional responsibilities to meet business requirements or individual development needs for the forthcoming financial year.
