We’re looking for a compassionate and empathetic Assistant Coordinator who shares our vision to improve the lives of families experiencing the Justice System.
What we do
Our system does not always address the root causes of crime. Anyone can end up at court alone, feeling powerless, trapped and terrified.
We give free, confidential, practical help and emotional support for anyone going through court and into life beyond.
We sit down and listen. We think about what that person has been through. We build trust and use our experience to find solutions to complex situations.
We guide towards positive change and stay by their side for as long as they want us.
Pioneering a new approach
You will be pioneering a new approach supporting not just individuals, but their families as well. That’s why this vacancy is for an Assistant Coordinator – Family Support Worker.
Strong sense of purpose
You will have a strong sense of purpose to support the families of the people who come through our door.
It’s a pivotal moment when someone arrives in crisis at court. You will be part of a team of staff and volunteers focussed on reducing the risk of re-offending, giving an opportunity for someone to re-set and re-start their life. You will be able to make a real difference, providing practical advice and emotional support, not just for that individual going through court, but now for their family as well.
Lynchpin
You will be a lynchpin, able to use your people skills to work with our partners in Cornwall to find solutions to underlying issues, especially when it comes to:
Spiralling financial hardship and debt
Homelessness and accommodation
General wellbeing
Domestic abuse
Substance use
Mental health, including depression and anxiety
Literacy issues
General court support
Education, training and employment
Our beliefs drive us
We believe that with the right emotional and practical support and life-changing opportunities, anyone can reach their potential, creating safer communities where everyone can thrive.
Join our team
Above all, you will be joining a great team determined to find solutions for people facing many difficulties.
Join us if you enjoy variety and understand that many people have complicated lives or have experienced past trauma.
