This post is available immediately within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health’s Doctoral Academy which supports all postgraduate researchers (PGR) in the Faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing effective operational delivery of the Professional Doctorate in Clinical Science Programme and coordinate the delivery of activities from admission to graduation.
The Doctorate in Clinical Science is the academic element of the Higher Specialist Scientist Training Programme (HSST) and is run in close collaboration between the University and the National School for Healthcare Science. Trainees complete this 5 year part time programme alongside their NHS posts. You can find out more about the programme here: Doctoral Level (HSST) – MAHSE
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to multi-task and work to competing deadlines. Candidates should possess excellent communication and influencing skills in order to build strong working relationships with academic and professional services colleagues across the institution, as well as with external stakeholders. You will be required to work closely with the Programme Directors and to ensure the provision of information, advice and guidance on programme specific activities and wider university policies. The successful candidate will be required to input to the development and motivation of team members, as well as identifying operational improvements and standardisation.
It will be advantageous for the candidate to have experience of working within higher education, ideally within a programme or student support role with some experience of taught unit administration.
