My client is a global leader in sustainable and efficient power conversion products. Focused on the transformative markets of Server, Storage, Networking (SSN) and E- Mobility, we design and manufacture an extensive portfolio of standard and custom power solutions. Known for quality and innovation, they seek a Production Manager to oversee and optimize our through-hole and Surface Mount (SMT) manufacturing operations, ensuring they align with our growth objectives and uphold our high standards of quality.
Description:
This role combines technical expertise in manufacturing processes with leadership responsibilities, driving process optimization, team development, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience in production management, process modernization, and team leadership in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production processes and on-time delivery of high-quality products.
Manage and coordinate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production schedules.
Lead the production team to achieve performance targets related to quality, cost, and delivery.
Factory Operational Efficiency: Develop and execute strategies to optimize factory operations, including streamlining workflows, reducing downtime, and enhancing resource utilization.
Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost savings, implementing corrective measures as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing functions.
Drive improvements in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), focusing on maximizing uptime, speed, and output quality.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by implementing lean manufacturing principles and fostering innovation.
Team Management : Supervise, mentor, and develop production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Evaluate team performance, provide regular feedback, and implement training programs to enhance skill sets.
Lead recruitment and onboarding efforts for new production team members.
Process Improvement & Modernization: Assess and improve through-hole electronics manufacturing processes, including wave soldering, conformal coating, and testing.
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement process enhancements and upgrade equipment.
Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
Strategic Planning: Align production strategies with organizational goals, including cost reduction, quality improvement, and capacity expansion.
Contribute to budgeting and planning for capital improvement projects.
Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) readiness and ensure seamless transitions from product development to mass production.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all production activities comply with industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Champion health and safety initiatives, maintaining a safe working environment.
Maintain and update detailed production documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Metrics & Reporting: Monitor key production metrics such as yield, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Generate reports and present production performance data to senior management.
Identify and implement corrective actions for underperformance or inefficiencies.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role, in electronics manufacturing.
Proven track record in managing and optimizing through-hole manufacturing processes, including wave soldering and conformal coating.
Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and scaling production for new products.
Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies, equipment, and testing processes for electronics.
Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Exceptional leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
Strong communication abilities, including technical writing and presentation skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hours of Work: 38 hours per week, 8.30 am to 5.30 pm with half hour lunch break from Monday through Thursday onsite and 8.30 am to 12.30 pm Friday
Pension: Group Stakeholder Pension Scheme. Company’s contribution 5% of basic salary, employee contribution a minimum of 4% of basic salary
