An opportunity has arisen to join our main reception team at Gosport War Memorial Hospital. We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual with a passion for making a real difference to people's lives in the local community. As the receptionist, you will be their first port of call and represent the Trust and its values. It is the responsibility of each receptionist to assist in the smooth running of the Hospital in general and the reception area. Duties will include switchboard, dealing with visitors to the site and general reception duties. Main duties of the job A professional and sensitive manner is required as the post holder will be liaising with patients daily requiring courtesy, discretion and confidentiality always, to project a positive, efficient and friendly image to our patients and other professionals who may contact us either in person or via the telephone, always ensuring continuity of service. The successful applicant should be friendly, welcoming and organised with good communication, literacy, numeracy, IT skills and able to work accurately and methodically as part of a team or on their own. Duties will include but not limited to taking telephone enquiries and directing them to the relevant departments, ensuring all visitors are welcomed and signposted accordingly, meeting/clinic room bookings and general administration work. Previous experience of working within an NHS environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
