Within the AS department in Fordham, Cambridgeshire we use LC, GC and ICP as well as MS techniques for the trace analysis of small and large molecule impurities in drug formulations, to ensure quality and that they are safe for patients to take.
You will increase your knowledge of all things to do with a regulated laboratory and its techniques, from validation, sample analysis to investigations and reporting.
Job purpose
The placement position in Fordham, Cambridgeshire is mainly focused on the analysis of propellant gas for the use in inhalers. After general training in all things AS and GMP you will learn how to perform a wide range of tests, that include wet chemistry, GC, FTIR and Karl Fisher.
In addition, you will support activities across the department having an opportunity to work with techniques such as ICP-MS and LC-MS/MS. You will be trained to work independently and involve yourself in all parts of the work, both in the lab and out of it (for instance reporting, customer interaction and quality processes, such as laboratory investigations).
This placement will give you a wide range of experiences that will be invaluable for your future career.

1. Studying towards a Degree in Chemistry, Material Science or related subject
2. Good written and verbal communication skills
