Site Reliability Engineer - Market-Leading Global Hedge Fund
Industry-leading market maker using innovative and cutting-edge technology, with data at the core of the investment process. Great opportunity for a pragmatic Site Reliability Engineer with a strong background in CompSci fundamentals to use innovative technology to reduce complexity and improve trading performance.
In this role, your primary focus will be taking applications to production, providing early support for apps while being developed and ensuring optimum function of the app throughout its lifetime. You'll collaborate closely with app development teams on automation & app refactoring, as well as evangelizing the SRE approach to other teams.
You'll be expected to have a deep understanding of how applications function and are able to change applications for production quality. Your mindset is one that leans towards innovation, automation, and constantly using measurements and statistics to improve.
Requirements
* Strong background in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and computer science fundamentals
* SRE enthusiast, strong growth and automation-first mindset
* Fully proficient in at least one modern structured programming language
* Comfortable with a range of current software development tools and practices, e.g. testing, source control, build systems, CI/CD, containers, etc.
* Minimum bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science (or related field)
Nice to have
* Basic working understanding of TCP/IP networking, cloud (ideally GCP), LAN and WAN as well as Linux networking
* SQL and database experience
* Web UI experience, e.g. JavaScript, CSS, and similar web languages
* Some experience with building and managing highly reliable large-scale systems
