ICASS (Integrated Community Assessment & Support Service) has the overall aim of improving the quality of care and outcomes for older people with the intention of allowing them to remain independent within their own homes or communities.
Staff Nurses work effectively as members of the Hospital at Home Team ensuring the delivery of high quality, clinically effective care, utilising high level clinical skills and knowledge to maintain patient safety within the community.
We are seeking an individual to join the established Hospital at Home service for Community services. The main base will be Whyteman’s Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy, however the post is employed in the community care services so there is the possibility that in order to support colleagues and capacity within the service some shifts may have to be carried out across the Fife Wide Service.
You will be required to deliver a high standard of safe and effective acute medical patient care within patient’s homes and must have the ability to recognise the deteriorating patient and have the ability to work autonomously in this evolving service.
You should be a registered nurse with relevant experience; demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, as well as having clinical skills including venepuncture, ECG, IV additives and cannulation. Please refer to the job description and person specification for more detail.
You will have good communication skills and have a flexible attitude to work. The ability to travel within the area in a timely manner is essential for this community post.
Vital to this post is the flexibility to work over a 7 day period, working shifts covering the period from 08.00 – 22.00 hours.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
