Purpose
The networks support team provides services to a wide range of customers across all sectors.
Key Responsibilities
• Action, update and resolve logged support incidents in line with SLA commitments.
• Carry out regular system checks within required timescale.
• Undertake appropriate system housekeeping activities.
• Participate in a rota for out-of-hours support.
• Deploy approved system changes.
• Produce and update support documentation.
• Produce regular reports.
• Management and administration of backup systems
• Provide support for Business Continuity activities
Essential Skills & Experience(Technical)
• In depth knowledge and extensive experience in the design, management, and support networks in customer Data Centres or Cloud environments
• Extensive experience and knowledge of network security devices and configuration (Cisco ASA, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet or similar)
• In-depth knowledge of VPN technologies (Cisco, CheckPoint, Palo Alto)
• Extensive knowledge of network switches (Meraki, Cisco, Aruba)
• Core network skills to include, routing (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, etc), switching (VLANS, STP, Stacking, etc)
• Strong understanding of corporate LAN and WAN data networks
• Knowledge of WAF (Cloudflare, Azure)

• Excellent communicator, able to articulate issues and solutions to customer, third party and internal contacts, both written and verbally
• Able to take responsibility for tasks and see them through to satisfactory conclusion, even when this requires support from other people / teams.
• Ability to prioritise / reprioritise effectively and develop contingency plans.
• Able to work to agreed standards and practices.
• Can identify broken process and draft solutions.
• Understands customer needs as well as service commitments and can deliver to them.
• Able to produce high quality documentation
• Experience of a Service Desk or remote customer support role with knowledge of ITIL methodologies desirable
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Visio and experience creating network documentation.
• Experience operating in a change control and configuration management environment.
Desirable Skills / Experience / Qualifications
• Azure (AZ-700/AZ-104) or AWS Certification (Certified Advanced Networking)
• CCNP certification or equivalent experience
• Experience supporting Meraki wireless networks.
• Experience of Virtual Data Centre networking e.g., Amazon AWS & Azure
• Experience using network management and monitoring tools
• Knowledge of IDS/IPS, RSA, TACACS, ISO27001/PCI
• Understanding and experience of VoIP technologies
