In this newly created role, onsite, reporting to the Site Hygiene Manager, you will strive to achieve outstanding, best in class Hygiene performance, maintaining the correct factory hygiene standards and customer satisfaction with factory cleanliness. You will help drive a culture of continuous improvement in hygiene, quality and food safety standards, leading a team of hygiene operatives and technicians on your day shift.
Duties & Responsibilities – Food Safety & Hygiene Leader - Dayshift
1. Facilitate and coach your Hygiene team’s performance.
2. Ensure the completion of hygiene schedules to maintain the factory and environment to a high standard.
3. Responsible for ensuring that the required quality, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards are implemented, maintained, and improved.
4. Ensure hygiene standards, cleaning procedures, practices, and equipment are continually re-evaluated in line with best practices.
5. Develop and train all site hygiene activities with the Hygiene Members to maximize their potential.
6. Present documentation to support the Hygiene Operation including Chemical Data Sheets, Training Records and completion/sign off.
7. Ensure all work conforms to the processes and procedures of the ‘Quality Management System’ and ‘Health and Safety Management Systems’.
8. Lead a team of hygiene operatives to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
9. Ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time.
10. Ensure deep cleans are completed in full and on time.
11. Ensure the elimination and control of pests across the site.
12. Involvement in external audits.
13. Deliver training for all operatives.
14. Adhere to Master Cleaning Schedules.
15. Measured through External Audit Performance and Control and Retailer Audits.
16. Control Hygiene budget in agreement with Technical Manager.
Requirements & Experience – Food Safety & Hygiene Leader – Dayshift
1. A proven record of achievement in hygiene, quality or food safety management.
2. Good understanding of Food Safety, Health and Safety and COSHH.
3. Experience in a similar role within food and drink manufacturing.
4. Experience in leading and supporting a team of people.
5. Record of building and leading small teams within a technical, manufacturing, quality or food safety environment.
6. Excellent numeric, analytical, literacy and problem-solving skills.
7. Understanding of BRC Technical Standard.
