Multi-Skilled Technician – Mechanical Weekend Shift

Location: Dumbarton, may be required to work across other sites in Central Belt.

Your unique contribution
The Multi-Skilled Technician will provide the support required to meet the business needs to achieve results in both planned and breakdown maintenance, ranging from hands-on work to administration through the computerised asset management systems (CMMS).
You will have three main areas of responsibility:
* Maintenance – to follow the company CMMS to maintain and repair the cask handling equipment within the Drain & Fill production lines and to procure equipment and materials required to support maintenance activities.
* Technical Support – to provide technical support to the production team in a high-pressure manufacturing environment, updating the relevant documentation accordingly and communicating issues with the correct people.
* Contractor Support – to supervise and support engineering contractors as well as to prepare and manage Permit to Work for high-risk activities.
Who you’ll be working with
Internally, you’ll collaborate with the wider Engineering team as well as other teams including Production, Health & Safety, HR and Finance.
Externally, you will collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure all services are delivered to the highest standard.
Your blend of talent
This position could be right for you if you:
* Are time served in a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent, with a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline.
* Have knowledge of mechanical handling equipment with the ability to diagnose and rectify breakdowns as well as knowledge of pipework, valves, and pumps, with the ability to carry out maintenance on this equipment.
* Have previous industry experience and the ability to perform reactive maintenance on a range of mechanical equipment including conveyors, drive systems, lifting equipment, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
* Are able to work weekend day shifts and be flexible to support on other days when needed.
