We are looking for Mechanical Fitters to carry out maintenance and servicing on rail wagon vehicles.
Opportunity:
The opportunity to join a company that is expanding it's Maintenance Team and is looking for additional Fitters to undertake the servicing, maintenance and repair of freight wagons. The position is based out of their Ipswich Facility, a recently built depot where all of the workload will be carried out from.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Adhering to health & safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards. Ensuring company engineering standards and procedures are understood, applied and followed. Maintaining, servicing, and repairing wagons in accordance with approved maintenance plans. Ensuring all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed to company standards. Being a good communicator. The Ideal Candidate:
Commitment to adopting safe working practices. A willingness to be flexible as sometimes work might exceed finishing time, there is also the opportunity for weekend overtime. A background knowledge and experience of rolling stock maintenance would be advantageous. Essential:
An appreciation of mechanical maintenance activities and a willingness to learn. An underpinning knowledge and an ability to understand mechanical and pneumatic systems. Able to pass a medical, drugs & alcohol screening. A UK driving licence. Rotating Shift Pattern Below:
06:00 – 14:30 Monday to Thursday 06:00 – 13:30 Friday 14:00 - 00:30 Monday to Wednesday 14:00 - 23:30 Thursday Please note that this post is subject to standard pre-employment checks including employment references, medical & D&A screening and successful DBS background checks.
