We’re looking for an enthusiastic Learning Tutor to join our dynamic team Who We Are United Response is a registered charity, founded in 1973, whose mission is to ensure that individuals with learning disabilities, mental or physical support needs have the opportunity to live their lives to the full. We support around 2000 people in over 300 locations across England and Wale, and employ over 3,600 staff. ROC College, a part of United Response, is a specialist college that provides person-centred, community-based teaching and learning within Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. We work with young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). What You’ll Do Deliver Tailored Learning : Provide one-to-one and small group sessions with bespoke curriculums. Foster Independence : Help students develop life skills in areas such as finance, independent living, and health. Collaborate : Work closely with Curriculum Managers, Learning Mentors, and external teams to support each student’s personal growth. Promote Engagement : Implement innovative learning experiences in the classroom and community settings. What You’ll Need Qualifications: GCSEs (A-C in English and Maths) or equivalent. AET (Level 3) teaching/tutoring certification. Experience: Supporting individuals with learning disabilities. Developing and delivering personalised lesson plans. Skills : Effective communication and behaviour management techniques. Adaptability to meet students’ diverse needs. Desirable : Experience in safeguarding, managing challenging behaviours, and knowledge of relevant legislation.
