AMG Chrome are looking for a Buyer to join the Engineering Stores team for maintenance repair and operations stock. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established team to ensure the Company are sourcing products and services from appropriate, cost effective and high performing suppliers.
Duties:
* Purchase materials for high quality engineering/production requirements.
* Request quotations, raise purchase orders.
* Ordering and organising vendor managed or consignment stocks where used if required.
* Progress overdue purchase orders for a speedy resolution to late orders, whilst maintaining communication with all relevant departments.
* Resolving supplier queries relating to purchase orders placed and acknowledgments received (pricing, due dates, specification, etc).
* Key involvement in supplier returns and credits.
* To plan the supply chain workload taking into account changes in requirements, resources or unscheduled events/occurrences.
* Involvement in the Improvement of existing Engineering Stores systems and deliver KPIs.
* Identification of total cost of ownership savings across the business, working closely with Engineering Stores Manager and site engineering/production teams.
* Assisting accounts where required to solve supplier invoice queries.
* Maintain accurate records setting up new parts against specific suppliers, cost changes and input of purchase and supplier related data.
* Maintain and update Material Safety Data logs for all applicable purchases.
* Conduct desktop and face to face supplier audits as per schedule.
* Maintain and update Supplier Assessment and Modern Day Slavery, cost savings and new add to stock log.
The Person:
* Purchasing and stock control experience of parts within a stores / manufacturing / engineering / PPE environment.
* Ability to read drawings, basic mechanical and quality principles (desirable).
* Knowledge of MSDS, COSHH, Risk assessments and Safe systems of work desirable.
* Experience of IT systems, including MS Office and Excel.
* Experience of stock control and ordering computer systems, preferably Agresso and Mainsaver but training will be given.
* Fork lift truck license (desirable, but not essential as training can be given if required).
