The Boys’ Division is seeking to appoint a part time (17.5 hours) Design Technology Technician to provide technical, practical and administrative support to the Department of Design, Technology and Engineering, to enable the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning. There may be a possibility of the hours increasing as the department grows. The main duties will include supporting teachers during workshop lessons, preparing and assisting with practical sessions, undertaking repairs and general maintenance, and completing administrative tasks such as stock control, maintaining Health and Safety records and taking deliveries. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a practical environment, will possess excellent time-management skills, the ability to patiently assist children and be computer literate. Experience as a school technician is desirable but not essential. With some 2,500 pupils, Bolton School is a large, thriving, academically selective day school.
