Position: Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor
Reporting to: Commercial Manager
As a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing the financial and cost-control aspects of various M&E projects. Your expertise will ensure that projects are delivered within budget, to the highest standards, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management and Reporting:
* Prepare and maintain accurate cost reports, ensuring all financial aspects of the project are closely monitored.
* Track costs and project progress, identifying variances and implementing corrective measures as required.
Procurement:
* Oversee the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring best value while meeting project requirements.
* Negotiate, finalise, and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
Valuations and Payments:
* Prepare and submit monthly valuations and payment applications to clients.
* Review and process subcontractor payment applications, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
Budget Control:
* Develop and manage project budgets, maintaining accurate forecasting and effective financial control.
* Identify and mitigate financial risks and capitalise on opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Change Management:
* Manage the change control process, ensuring all variations are properly recorded and valued.
* Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Project Support:
* Provide financial and commercial advice to the project team, ensuring all contractual and commercial matters are effectively managed.
* Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Experience and Skills
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the M&E sector.
* Track Record: Proven ability to manage the financial aspects of commercial, residential, and education projects.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of M&E systems and their financial implications.
