We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Disabilities Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A Prison located in SE28 London.
HMP Belmarsh is a Category A male prison based in SE28, London that offers a wide variety of healthcare services including Pharmacy, Mental Health, Primary Care, Substance Misuse and has its own inpatient unit. There is parking onsite.

Monday - Friday
37.5 hours per week
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £53,172 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Learning and Disabilities Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with other services, agencies, and organisations.
* Develop specialist clinical skills in working with an offender population with a diversity of presenting problems, including psychosis and personality disorder, that feature alongside their learning disability and/or autism spectrum disorder.
* Make a clinical judgment with regard to their immediate needs and long-term treatment, administer medication as prescribed by the doctor within the guidelines for medicines administration.
* Provide a holistic package of care to patients within the prison system and manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care, for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment.

* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
* Experience working with Adults, Young Adults, or Teenagers with Learning Disability and/or Autism will be considered.
* Experience in skills relevant to the clinical area.
* Competency in the core skills relevant to the clinical area including knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983, management & administration of all necessary resources to deliver care, assessment, treatment & care management.
