What does the role look like?
An exciting opportunity has risen for this hands-on role as a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager. Based in Wolverhampton & part of the Actuation Systems team, you will be joining the newly created COE Finance team. We're embarking on a significant change management programme as we look to simplify our reporting & streamline our processes.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, we're looking for an analytically minded individual to support the strategic short and long-term goals of the business. We're looking for someone to challenge the status quo & drive continuous improvement across the function.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
* Design and implement financial models to aid key business decision making and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecasts;
* Manage and co-ordinate the budget and forecast processes with accurate timetables, key performance metrics and support the guidance to ensure delivery to agreed timelines and stakeholders;
* Play a pivotal role between finance teams and stakeholders i.e. value streams Finance Business Partners;
* Management reporting:
o Support the actuals, forecasting and budgeting process;
o Monthly reporting of business performance through various means;
o Providing further commentary and essential analysis on KPIs;
o Monitor KPIs and identify the cause of any unexpected variances;
* Support the development of providing more visibility of the financial performance of the site to be used to delivery to the leadership;
* Deliver timely and accurate financial reports, offering clear narratives on trends, risks and opportunities to improve performance;
* Responsible for managing the closing of the month end period in SAP and reporting of the actuals;
* Analyse the results of business decisions to assess financial health and determine short and long-term financial strategy;
* Team Leadership:
o 3 to 4 direct reports to manage and develop in the FP&A team, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and collaboration.
o Instil a continuous improvement culture, focusing on process, system and people optimisation;
* Drive change management and transformation initiatives, leveraging technology and analytics.
What will you bring to the role?
Essential skills:
* ACCA, CIMA, or ACA Qualified
* Analytical Skills: Data-driven with a proactive, inquisitive approach to financial analysis
* Proven commercial acumen
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Desirable skills:
* Champions change and continuous improvement as business opportunities
* A proactive attitude with a hands-on approach with the ability to independently seek improvements;
* Ability to lead plan, forecast and budgeting processes
* Excellent ability to make informed decisions
* Experience of SAP/OneStream
* Knowledge of US and UK GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley legislation
* Manufacturing or Engineering experience would be advantageous
* Collaborative style working with both Finance and non-Finance colleagues
