MAIN DUTIES
* To manage and develop the Youth Health Champions Project and young volunteer program at YoMo, working with NHS Health Promotion Team and developing new relationships with partners to recruit young volunteers.
* Report to funders on outcomes, case studies, and impact; complete all monitoring and evaluation on Upshot.
* Engage young volunteers in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the Youth Health Champions Project and other volunteering opportunities within YoMo.
* Work as part of a team and develop positive trusting relationships with young people.
* Make regular contact with young people to identify, assess, and meet their formal and informal educational needs, and encourage higher self-expectations, standards, and skills.
* Support the personal and social development of young people through creative and interactive programmes and one-to-one Personal Development Plans.

About the Role:
The Youth Participation Worker will work as part of a small team designing, planning, and delivering the Space Training Academy’s exciting new project – Wellbeing onto Work (WOW). The WOW project will work with young people aged 16-24 years, supporting the transition between school and employment.
Key Tasks in the Role:
* Create promotional material and network locally, recruiting suitable young people onto the programme.
* Plan and deliver WOW group sessions.
* Meet with young people on a one-to-one basis to deliver appropriate individual support.
* Track and evaluate the progress of the project to demonstrate impact and inform funder reporting.
* Maintain accurate, detailed records for each young person including attendance and progress.
* Stay abreast of local opportunities for young people, such as community groups, jobs, work placements, further education, and voluntary opportunities.
* Source and commission external trainers/suppliers to deliver sessions where specialised knowledge and/or skills are required.

Location: The SMP’s office is located at City of Edinburgh Council, Room 3/1, City Chambers, High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1YJ. We have blended office and home-working with the expectation of 3 days per week in the office.
