About the role: Location: Hybrid, Aberdeenshire Hours: 37.5 hours per week IT Engineer will work with the outsourced IT provider to manage and maintain our company’s IT infrastructure and provide technical support to staff. The IT Engineer will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation of IT systems, implementing technology solutions, maintaining the highest level of security and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Reporting to the COFO, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, develop strategies, and ensure the successful execution of IT projects. This role would suit someone that has a keen interest in supporting business operations through technology solutions and wants to bring innovate ideas & values advice based support. About the team: You will be the main point of contact for everything IT related at Motive and work closely with all teams and staff across all regions, becoming an integral part of what we do and how we do it. Responsibilities: People Adopting and promoting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for IT improvement initiatives. Act as a liaison between departments, facilitating collaboration and communication. Planet Embed environmental sustainability into IT initiatives, ensuring that all processes consider the reduction of the company’s environmental footprint. Develop and drive environmentally friendly approaches to IT infrastructure, minimising environmental impact. Evaluate and mitigate environmental risks in business improvement projects, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals. Product Technical Support: Provide first and second-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues. Respond to and resolve IT support requests in a timely manner. Train staff on new systems and technologies as needed. Manage and maintain servers, storage systems, and network equipment. Monitor system performance and ensure optimal uptime. Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups. Install, configure, and maintain hardware (e.g., desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals). Manage software licenses and ensure compliance. Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement, maintenance, or upgrades. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and endpoint protection. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy regulations. Conduct regular security audits and address vulnerabilities. IT Projects: Assist in the planning, implementation, and rollout of new IT systems, software and infrastructure. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and productivity. Required skills / knowledge: Proven experience in IT support, system administration, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of operating systems. Proficiency in managing Active Directory, Office 365, and other enterprise tools. Familiarity with networking protocols and hardware. Experience with virtualization platforms Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
