An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly team in the Cardiac Day Unit.
The unit is expanding and this is an exciting time to join in the development of the existing 6 bedded Cardiac Day Unit with a new radial lounge and two Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories, where a wide range of procedures are performed including primary angioplasty.
You will be enthusiastic, well motivated and friendly with a genuine interest in cardiac nursing. This position will involve working with the cardiologists, as well as providing high quality care to both NHS and private patients in the Day unit having procedures such as transoesophageal echo and cardioversions

Main duties of the job
The post holder works under indirect supervision of the nurse team leader and undertakes tasks and duties delegated by the nurse team leaders or a suitably qualified regulated professional.
They will work collaboratively with the cardiology team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures.

Person specification
Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
1. Diploma in Nursing
2. Registered Nurse (Level 1)
3. ENB 998 or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
4. previous experience at band 5
Desirable criteria
5. Experience of teaching students, HCA’s and qualified staff
6. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
Essential criteria
7. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, relatives and the multi-disciplinary team in English.
8. Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
9. Competency in IV drug administration
10. Knowledge of the role of a Band 5 Staff Nurse
11. Knowledge of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
12. Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
