CNC Turner
Location: Simonstone
Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 07:30-16:15, Fri 07:30-12:30
Salary: £15.28 p/h
The Role:
My client is a leading manufacturer in their field, with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Burnley. You will be expected to achieve high standards of quality, in line with the targeted levels of output and improving current processes.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Set up tools and load materials onto CNC machine.
2. Carry out machining of components.
3. Measure components produced on machines and use inspection equipment to ensure that components are manufactured to drawing dimensions and tolerances.
4. Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings.
5. Contribute in a team working environment.
6. Contribute to continuous improvement.
7. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
8. Manually handle weights up to 25kg.
9. Complete quality documentation.
10. Use computer equipment for data purposes.
11. Work to lean theory.
12. Observe and practice the 5S principles.
The Candidate:
1. Time served in an engineering discipline.
2. Experienced with CNC Turning.
3. Desirable to have had experience of working with stainless steels and machine programming using Fanuc/Okuma/Mazak CNC controls.
4. Proficient at set up, operation, and adjustment of tool and fixture offsets on CNC machine tools as well as conventional milling machines would be preferred.
5. Experience of working to tight tolerances.
6. Ability to read engineering drawings and quality plans.
7. Prior knowledge and experience of machining stainless steels in a variety of forms including billet, castings, and pressings would be advantageous.
