Starting in February 2025, a wonderful two day live-out nanny position has become available, working with a professional and friendly family who live in St Albans, Hertfordshire. You will be looking after two children – a little boy aged three and his sister aged eight months. Mum is currently on maternity leave, returning to work in August 2025.
The hours of the role are Monday and Tuesday, 07.30-20.00 (25 hours/week).
They are looking for a reliable, fun, bubbly and active nanny, who can stay long term and become part of their happy family. The nanny should be a team player, a good communicator, creative and with a real interest in child development and childhood milestones.
The little boy attends pre-school, but when not at school he is active and enjoys trips to the park and soft play, as well as indoor activities such as arts and crafts, imaginary games and reading stories. The baby enjoys rhyme time and music group. The parents are happy for you to recommend any groups and activities that she may enjoy.
Before you collect the little boy from pre-school, you will have time to help keep the children organised. This includes tasks such as general childcare, the children’s laundry, keeping their bedrooms and playroom organised and tidy, ensuring they have everything they need for the next day (uniform prepared, etc.).
Although there is a weekly cleaner, any help to keep the house running smoothly would be appreciated (keeping the kitchen tidy, emptying the dishwasher, running the occasional errand, etc.).
You will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the children, preferably homemade whenever possible. You should have full knowledge of weaning and potty training. At the end of the day, you will oversee bathtime and leave all used rooms tidy, ready for the parents to take over.
The family live centrally in St Albans, where everything is within walking distance, so a driver isn’t essential. However, if you do drive, you should be a careful and confident driver with a clean driving licence and your own fully insured car. Duty mileage will be paid.
