Crowcon Detection Instruments Ltd. is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to contribute to delivering company growth goals. This is a regional role reporting to the Field Service Engineering Manager.

What will you be doing?
As a member of the Field Service Team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support and customer service to all customers as well as attending customer sites to perform proactive maintenance, repairs, and commissioning of our products across the South.
Main Responsibilities:
* Servicing, calibrating, and repairing gas detection equipment to the relevant standards.
* Ensure all serviced products are left fully operational and tested – demonstrated to the site responsible person (recorded on service paperwork).
* Support other team members on jobs that require multiple engineers.
* Provide customer ‘user training’ when required.
* Work closely with the Service Admin team ensuring jobs are scheduled efficiently and meet customers’ requirements.
* Ensure service reports are completed accurately and submitted for invoicing on time.
* Complete RAMs and POWRAs when required.
* Responsible for the van stock holding and calibration gas holding, ensuring it is appropriate for the customer base in your region.
* Ensure all personal PPE is maintained within inspection expiry dates and all service equipment is ‘up to date’ and operational.
* Build strong relationships with Area Sales Managers, providing customer insight to support sales growth.
Minimum Requirements:
* Previous experience with fire/burglar alarms or other similar electronic devices.
* Previous Field Service Engineering experience would be an advantage, but not necessary.
* Instrument equipment service, troubleshoot/repair, commissioning, and/or installation experience.
* Excellent customer communication skills in both writing and verbal.
* HNC / HND in an electrical/electronic field or equivalent understanding from work experience.
* Working knowledge of control panel assembly and components. PLC knowledge would be helpful but not a requirement.
* Understanding of Health and Safety requirements for the role.
* Knowledge of RAMs & POWRAs.
* Full driving license.
* Confined Space, IPAF, and Safety Passport is preferable, but training is provided.
