Our client, one of the UK's leading energy providers, is looking for a Procurement Assistant to join the Commercial Department on-site at a Power Station in Hartlepool.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Carry out the ordering and the management of PPE & Stationery.
2. Ensuring compliance of the Acquire Goods and Service process.
3. Assist with resolving invoice queries.
4. Carry out the ordering of goods and services up to a value of £20k.
5. Establish call off arrangements.
6. Complete third-party inspection paperwork and manage process.
7. Carry out negotiations with external suppliers.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
1. Good IT literacy (Microsoft Office & Excel).
2. Able to communicate at all levels within the business, both to staff, colleagues in other departments and to supplier staff to build effective working relationships.
3. Knowledge of the principles of basic Procurement and purchasing procedures and the ability to apply this information in a pragmatic way.
4. Previous buying experience essential.
5. Able to multitask, organise, and prioritise workloads, as well as meet deadlines.
6. A resourceful individual who is flexible in approach.
7. Previous SAP experience preferred.
8. You will have strong organisational, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to deal with both internal customers and external supplier queries.
9. Good attention to detail and be able to contribute ideas and solutions in a fast-moving environment.
