The Resuscitation Officer (RO) will support delivery of both basic life support, advanced life support and associated training throughout South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT, the Trust) and support effective operational delivery of this training. The Resuscitation Officer will deputise for the Senior Resuscitation Officer (SRO) in their absence or in areas of delegated / designated responsibility. The RO will be expected to respond to adult cardiac arrest calls, paediatric emergency calls, acting as an expert member of the team and facilitating experiential learning and team debrief. The RO will Support resuscitation associated audit programmes across the Trust and lead on specific audits with designated responsibility from the SRO encouraging evidence-based practice Trust wide by contributing to the development and revision of Trust resuscitation and associated guidelines, policies, procedures and training in the light of new research and audit. The RO will support effective use of all resuscitation training equipment within the Trust and contribute to the appropriate maintenance of such equipment. To act as professional resource for all staff within the Trust. To influence cardiac arrest prevention by supporting organisational approaches to deterioration recognition across the Trust.
