Job summary
The Finance team at Oxford Health NHS Trust is looking for a dedicated and innovative self-starter to work closely with the Finance Business Partners and OBSW (Oxfordshire, Bath and North Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire) Directorate Leadership Team on ensuring the Directorate delivers against financial and operational targets.
As our Senior Directorate Accountant, you will work in the Financial Management team and ensure that the appropriate financial management processes are in place to enable the effective planning, monitoring, control, and reporting of directorate income and expenditure and to provide professional advice and support on finance to directorate managers.
This is a great opportunity to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract or on a secondment if you are an existing NHS employee.
Main duties of the job
This Senior Accountant role will be working within the Financial Management team while reporting to the Finance Business Partner for Mental Health Services.
As a Senior Directorate Accountant you will:
1. Be responsible for leading on delivery of month-end, forecasting, and underlying position of your Directorate.
2. Prepare accurate and timely reports for internal and external meetings.
3. Support the identification and delivery of CIP schemes and efficiencies across services.
4. Lead your team to meet departmental goals and objectives.
5. Develop working relationships with both finance and operational teams.
